what are good animation colleges for students just getting out of high school?

well right now im a junior in high school i plan on pursuing animation. Im going to take animation my senior year and i was wondering what colleges in califonia are good for animation/ visual art stuff/ graphic design?
what are the requirements?
aditional advice would be good so can you tell me about the school.
no online schools please i do like to socialize with people.

The best source of information would be to ask your counselors, or even better, one of your art teachers. I haven’t decided what college I’ll be going to yet, but most art teachers have recommended Art Center in Pomona, OTIS (los angeles, I believe) and Cal Arts (can’t remember what city it’s in). I’ve had one teacher mention Fullerton, but I’m not too sure about that. I think there were others, but I can’t remember what they were.

I’m currently attending Mt. San Antonio Community College in Walnut, and for a community college, I think they got a pretty good animation course. I’ve been to Art Center during high school where I participated in the "Saturday High Program." You’re still a junior, so I would suggest going to the Art Center website and sign up for it. It’ll give you a chance to check out the school. OTIS has a program like that too, but it’s more expensive to attend the HS program than at Art Center, but if I remember correctly, OTIS had more choices for classes.

But remember, each school is different. All have good points, and all have bad points. This is why I suggest talking to your teachers and counselors, and get their opinion. :)

Hope this helps in some way!
